Full Face Mask
This course provides the diver with the basic safety, technical and practical knowledge necessary to be a competent full face mask diver and feel comfortable using their system. You will participate in an academic session to learn the features of full face masks, gain familiarity with the system in the pool, and finish by demonstrating skills in the open water.
Course Overview
The PADI Full Face Mask Course:
There are several different types of full face masks, so you begin learning about varying mask features and components. Next, you learn techniques for preparing and diving with a full face mask as well as proper maintenance. During a confined water dive, you get comfortable using your mask and practice skills in preparation for your open water dives. In open water, during two dives, you’ll demonstrate your ability to:
Properly prepare and check your mask for the dive.
Make adjustments underwater and clear water out of the mask.
Respond to simulated out-of-gas emergency situations.
Duration
The course takes 1 day to finish once you completed the classroom session. The day is spent away at a local dive site where you will conduct your 3 Full Face Mask Dives. This is usually completed at a local dive site, but your course can be completed anywhere in the world.
Who can take the course
If you’re a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver who is at least 12 years old, you can enroll in the Full Face Mask course.
